Emergency Outdoor First Aid Course (1 day)

Practical course designed for people involved in outdoor activities or work in rural locations in Britain less than one hour from definitive care. Fulfils Institute for Outdoor Learning band 2 requirements. Level 3 award valid for three years.

The training covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way, particularly where professional medical help is not immediately available.

It will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to respond to a range of emergency outdoor situations including summoning assistance, responding to changes in vital signs, administering CPR and blood loss.

Instructors: Our instructors are qualified as professional trainers and deliver courses with a practical perspective gained from their background in emergency care - from here in the UK to aid work overseas.

Certification: Learners get a Level 3 Award in Emergency Outdoor First Aid (OFQUAL regulated) valid for three years, subject to successful assessment. Learners must be a minimum of 14 years of age, and cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they are 16.

Course manual: Learners receive a 144 page 'Outdoor First Aid' book to help keep ideas fresh after the course.

Where does the money go: Wildhealth C.I.C. is a not-for-profit. All funds generated by our courses support our health and conservation projects such as the Wanang clinic in New Guinea’s threatened rainforests.
