Practical course designed for people involved in outdoor activities or work in rural locations in Britain less than one hour from definitive care. Fulfils Institute for Outdoor Learning band 2 requirements. Level 3 award valid for three years.
The training covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way, particularly where professional medical help is not immediately available.
It will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to respond to a range of emergency outdoor situations including summoning assistance, responding to changes in vital signs, administering CPR and blood loss.
Instructors: Our instructors are qualified as professional trainers and deliver courses with a practical perspective gained from their background in emergency care - from here in the UK to aid work overseas.
Certification: Learners get a Level 3 Award in Emergency Outdoor First Aid (OFQUAL regulated) valid for three years, subject to successful assessment. Learners must be a minimum of 14 years of age, and cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they are 16.
Course manual: Learners receive a 144 page 'Outdoor First Aid' book to help keep ideas fresh after the course.
