Wilderness First Aid - Advanced (4 days)

Key and extended skills for managing emergencies and illnesses in remote areas. Plenty of training time to enable a high quality of care. Fulfils UK NGB  requirements for outdoor leaders, and appropriate for those taking groups on fieldwork overseas.

Wilderness First Aid Advanced covers emergencies, illnesses and injuries associated with climbing, hiking, scuba diving, forestry, kayaking, skiing and many other outdoor activities. Advanced procedures not used in urban first aid are taught. A wide variety of scenarios, film footage and practical skill sessions prepare you to carry out emergency care in remote locations.

Instructors: Our instructors are qualified as professional trainers and deliver courses with a practical perspective gained from their background in emergency care - from here in the UK to aid work overseas.

Certification: Students who demonstrate first aid skills and pass end of course exams receive both a Level 3 Outdoor First Aid certificate (UK OFQUAL regulated, valid for three years) and a ECSI Wilderness First Aid - 32 hrs certificate (offered in association with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Emergency Physicians, valid worldwide  - including USA - for three years).

Course manual:  All students receive a copy of  the 458-page 'Wilderness First Aid: Emergency Care For Remote Locations', and a rapid reference e-book 'Outdoor First Aid'.

Where does the money go: Wildhealth C.I.C. is a not-for-profit. All funds generated by our courses support our health and conservation projects such as the Wanang clinic in New Guinea’s threatened rainforests.
